AbstractMouth ulcers, also called aphthous ulcers, are small, white sores with a red border, and which appear anywhere inside the mouth, either singly or in clusters. Mouth ulcers are extremely common, affecting as many as one in five people at some stage. Usually, women are affected more than men. Mouth ulcers may be a recurrent problem in some people.
